We would like to say a BIG ‘Thank You’ to friends, family and members of our community who have helped us with the initial set up of the ‘South Downs Forest School’ in early 2021 and the various funding partners who have given us grants throughout the following years, enabling us to run Forest School sessions for disadvantaged/ vulnerable young people!

We would like to thank you for all for your time, energy and generosity!…

We are so grateful to the Robinson family for their generosity in allowing us to use their beautiful woodland for the South Downs Forest School and giving us the opportunity to share our love of nature with the local community!

‘Thank you’ to:

  • Thank you to Bob at ‘Tree Appeal‘ for the donation of over 100 native saplings. We have planted these above the Forest School site, to in order to cover the wire fencing, have a boundary hedge and provide another habitat!
  • A BIG ‘Thank you’ also to the ‘Southover Manor Trust‘. We are very grateful that this grant has allowed us to obtain the essential start up equipment necessary for the Forest School and Outdoor Learning Sessions, which will be used for years to come!
  • We are also extremely grateful to ‘The Chalk Cliff Trust‘ for their grant, which will enabled us to buy further equipment and resources for and also to provide free or subsidised sessions of Forest School to vulnerable and/or disadvantaged children.
  • Thank you to The Enjoolata Foundation for their community grant, which enabled disadvantaged/ vulnerable children from local schools to attend a year of Forest School sessions 2024 to 2025.
  • We are very grateful to the Sussex Community Development Association in Newhaven, who have supported us in enabling SDFS to deliver Forest School family sessions and also sessions for vulnerable young people from local schools through their Children In Need grant.
